PETITION SEASON IS UNDERWAY. ARE YOU INTERESTED IN RUNNING FOR A LOCAL OFFICE?

All elections are local!!! If you are interested in running for a local office, please note that petition season is underway. All towns and wards in Chenango County, except for Columbus, Guilford, Town of Norwich, and Otselic, have moved to petitioning as the mechanism to get on the ballot.

You can find out what offices are up for election by checking the Board of Elections website. For most towns you would need fewer than 25 signatures from Democrats in the town for ballot access. You can contact the Democratic Committee Chair, or contact Carly Hendricks, Democratic Commissioner, at the Board of Elections (BOE). Competed petitions must be received back at the BOE by April 1, 2025.

For the towns and wards of Columbus, Guilford, Town of Norwich, and Otselic, town caucuses are still the mechanism for ballot access.
